When you subscribe a machine to an appliance and then go to assign another machine but when it subscribes it removes the original machine from shadowcontrol and vise versa. So you can never get them both to show in shadow control at the same time.
Usually we only see this sort of thing when someone has cloned a machine. There is also a small chance that the machine.id is the same for the two servers. Compare the machine.id values.

It is a hidden file
Open it in notepad and compare the values – if they match then you will need to recreate one. Before deleting it to recreate, you will want to unsubscribe it from the appliance through the web portal to clear the data out.
Once unsubscribed, stop the endpoint service, remove the machine.id file, start the service, resubscribe.
